welcome to “what i wore” at the pleated poppy! share with me your fashion posts and we can inspire each other! i started this originally as motivation to get out of my daily uniform of jammies or sweats, but now i am encouraged and held accountable to put a few extra minutes aside for myself and try new things. i’d love for you to join me!
i made this top a few years ago with my friend, nicole. we made matching tops – twinsies! except we’re not in elementary school and i’d die if we both wore them together! actually, i wear this top so rarely but love the fabric oh-so-much, that i decided i am going to make this top into my next pillow for our bed – yay!
top – made by me
cardi – banana republic
jeans – forever 21
flats – target
bracelets – world market
i went into forever 21 last week for a belt and came out with a belt. and 2 tops. oops! i am loving this top! actually, loving it so much that i wore it 2 days in a row. that has become my secret summer sanity keeper – not having to think too much in the morning!
top – forever 21
jeans – about to fall apart, but so cozy
shoes – what shoes? its summer!
this was a 2-day outfit, too. the nice thing about being out of the toddler stage is that i rarely have food and boogers wiped on my clothes anymore!
v-neck shirt – forever 21
jeans – forever 21
converse – new! nordstrom rack {yay for gift cards!}
this was at the end of a long day of working outside, so i threw this on to walk down the street to pepe’s (our fave mexican restaurant). our days have been pretty nice here, but the evening gets a good chill to it. and i’m a wimp.
cardigan – forever 21
striped shirt – old navy
skinnies – forever 21
converse – nordstrom rack
necklace – lisa leonard designs
notice how i’m wearing pants every day? i really don’t like shorts, and because i get cold easily, unless its above 80* jeans work just fine for me.
cardigan – target
top – gift from mom
jeans – gap
sandals – target
necklace – ruby rose

Love that f21 top!
Loving your summery jeans looks! It is HOT HOT HOT here so I’ve been rocking the shorts. your new top is so cute.
Love your outfit you wore out to mexican, adorable sweater and of course as always I am a sucker for stripes!
I love, LOVE that first top you made with your friend. So adorable. It’s got great colors too. Hope you’re enjoying your summer so far.
Thanks for hosting!

Those cuffed jeans are the cutest!
Your handmade top is so adorable! And I love the last outfit…the turquoise necklace looks really cute with the color of your top. Linking up! :)
Such a shame you don’t wear that handmade top more often. I love it. I guess a new pillow will see more light of day than being tucked away in your closet : )
bisous

Once again, I love all your outfits! Especially the first and last ones. =) You look amazing.

I love that top!
I rarely wear shorts, too. I get cold easily as well and jeans are usually just more comfortable. Love that cardi in the last outfit!
Love the fabric on that top. It really makes a statement. It’ll be a great pillow. Better to make use of it that way than to tuck it in a closet and forget it. Thanks so much for the link up once again!
Thanks for hosting! I love the shirt you and your friend made!

what style are the gap jeans with the striped cardigan from Target. Did you cut them yourself to make them ravel?
hi tanya!
the jeans are gap 1969 always skinny, but they are pretty old so i doubt if they even sell them anymore! they were crazy long so i chopped them myself.
Hey, The outfit with the cardigan from Target, the top from your mom…. (grey) do you know the brand or where she got it? I would love to find it or something similar?
Thank you!
Amanda
I so wish I had that top that you made, and then later planning on turning it into a pillow for your bed. I absolutely love the colors, and I have a similar color cardigan. Thanks for sharing.
