silhouette sale

i asked on facebook a few weeks ago for some ideas on how to use the silhouette machine. so many of you gave me some great ideas!

i’m not the techie-est person on the block, so the idea of tackling a new “gadget” was daunting. but when the folks at silhouette offered me a silhouette cameo to try out, i figured i should give it a shot.

while i haven’t had a chance to make a project with it yet, i did take some time to play around with it. so much easier than i thought! it uses all my fonts that are already on my computer too – including all those cute free downloadable ones i’ve found on other blogs. yay!!

here’s a few projects i’ve found using a silhouette that i love!

this thing cuts fabric?!?! oh, my aching fingers are rejoicing! i heard it may also work on burlap. have to give that a try!

I was thinking of getting the Portrait to play with. I’m not familiar at all with either, but think it would be handy for DIY projects. Do you think the least expensive one would be sufficient for a beginner and sometime DIYer?

definitely. my friend’s mom is not techie at all and she got a silhouette cameo and LOVES it. she uses it for christmas cards, signs, vinyl lettering, etc. i think that would be a great choice.
