linking up my weekly phone pics with jeannett!  i’m thepleatedpoppy on instagram if you want to follow along!

we had cousins come for a visit a couple weeks ago.  boys are so funny – as soon as they saw each other, they were running for the weapons within seconds!

getting some boy time is so good for silas!

i couldn’t resist taking this pic ;)  uncle vito was giving lily lessons in making THE WORLD’S BEST risotto.  seriously, so good.  even for leftover lunch.  so so good.

our weather is wackadoo and my kids were running in the water at the beach in january.  silly california!

i’ve been getting crafty lately and loving it!

i made a handful of these for our school’s front office – loving them!  here’s a tutorial for the book page mobiles.

si started martial arts and is loving it!  self-control is yet to be mastered, but we’re hoping it will come soon!

why do i do these things toward the end of the day?  i got a crazy idea to clean out and reorganize my buffet.  i filled my table with the contents and then we had to go out to dinner – oops!  then we got home and i proceeded to empty out 3 other cabinets!

we had a school meeting the other night and i got to doodling (helps me pay attention sometimes).

some days are long and hard and i just need to take a long walk alone.  but i wasn’t really all alone because my sister (in australia) & i were texting the whole time about big dreams, kids and a bunch of nothing.  it did the trick.

and then i came home to this amazing sunset!

did you know you don’t need a bonfire to make s’mores?  i make them over the stove flame all the time every once in awhile.

any big plans for the weekend?  we snuck off at the end of this week to travel on a work trip with sean to san francisco – yay!

Can you teach how to make s’mores over the stove?

its so easy! as long as you have a gas range (not electric), i just turn the flame on medium low and put a marshmallow on a metal skewer (like for kabobs). i just turn it until its perfectly golden, then add it to my graham crackers and chocolate!
