welcome to another week of “what i wore“! i was just talking with a friend about how annoying it is sometimes to be a girl. we had both had “one of those days” where we didn’t feel good about anything we’d put on. for me, it resulted in a pile of clean clothes on my closet floor. guys have it so easy: shirt, pants, shoes, done. but for us only certain pants can go with certain shoes, and some days not all tops work to flatter our monthly fluctuating bodies… but some days, having on a cute, comfy outfit makes you feel great! its not something you think about all day long (like a bad outfit), but you just feel better. i’ve started using what i wore posts as a go-to for the bad days. i just look through past outfits to find ones i felt really good in. no need to recreate the wheel. why do i so often feel like i need to come up with an all new outfit?
i love these pants! they do ride a lot lower in the back than i’d prefer, but i really love the seams up the front of the leg and the exposed pockets. i paired them with a simple loose fitting sweater from forever 21. i went with a medium because i wanted extra length, but really should’ve just got the small – its a bit too slouchy. and simple but slightly girly black flats with a bow detail at the heel. a long necklace was a must to break up the plain front of the black sweater.

black sweater – forever 21
flats – payless
necklace – world market
this was one of those days where nothing felt right – ergh! of course, we were heading to church and i left behind me a tornado of clothes.
sweater – forever 21
jeans – local boutique
flats – target
necklace – jewel kade
i love how a necklace can make a whole outfit make more sense!
and this outfit? well, we woke up on an at-school day to the power being out (the kids are home with me 3 days and at school 2 days). so no shower for me, and a hat was mandatory. also, despite our warm weather, a sweater is mandatory in the morning – it was 37* this morning when we got up with an expected high of 79*! my poor kids have to wear pants and sweatshirts to school then are roasting in the afternoon!
hat – local surf shop (ccs)
sweater – forever 21
v-neck tee – forever 21
jeans – local boutique
converse – nordstrom rack
long necklace – jennifer dahl
short necklace – lisa leonard designs
have you noticed? jeans and a white tee are my very favorite!

For some reason the first link I added didn’t work. I’m sorry for adding twice! I couldn’t figure out how to delete the bad one.
Love the camo pants and black sweater! I’ve become addicted to camo!
I absolutely love your blog and I am so glad that I stumbled upon it a few months ago. I wait patiently for the WIWW feature and the hook ups. I have a closet FULL of clothes, all of which fit and I like, however I am terrible at mixing and matching items. Now that I see all the fun ways to mix patterns and colors I’m steppingo outside my box a bit more! Thank you!!
You are rockin’ those camo pants! I would look like a ridiculous wannabe.
That’s a great pair of camo pants! I’ve been looking for a pair–now I know where to look, thanks!
