linking up my weekly phone pics with jeannett! i’m thepleatedpoppy on instagram if you want to follow along!
this feels so good. so very good. and there’s not even a huge pile outside the camera view! this space is actually clean! behind those polka dot curtains needs quite a bit of organizing, but i think i’ve finished clearing out at least. and i still have a lot of fabric left – wow! i thought i sold a lot with my supplies, but am glad i held on to this stash. i’m excited to have some time to create something all new.
remember this sweet red cross i spotted at ruby rose? well, i had to go back and get it the next day! i’ll show you its new home soon!
this is becoming a regular sight around here. our weather has been back and forth, but when its warm we’re taking advantage of it. even if its raining, sean and gracie have been going surfing together every sunday for a bit now, so these towels are getting some use.
we went to a last minute fundraiser with my parents last week, and we had no idea what the dress code was. while i definitely lean towards dressing up than dressing down in this situation, i wore those wedges while i was getting ready and after 15 minutes i knew i didn’t want to wear them all night. i’m such a wimp! i ended up wearing the outfit on the right, and i was dressed just fine – it turned out to be a pretty casual event. in pictures, though, i like the middle outfit better.
we went to a birthday party at the beach on sunday and silas decided to “surf” on his boogie board for a bit. that boy cracks me up!
now that i have a little extra time, i’ve been spending a lot more time at fred & betty’s.
once again, gracie amazes me. she wasn’t super happy with this drawing once she finished it, but the in-progress work was so pretty!
this is what my tuesday, thursday and friday mornings look like. me with my coffee while the kids are finishing their chores, and i’m organizing our school work for the day.
i was out late working on shipping this week with my mom, and my dad took the kids for the night. it was so nice to be able to watch my baby sleep for a few minutes.
just playing with the rhonna designs app for a few ;)
i was finishing up my morning email check while lily made breakfast for us, grace emptied the dishwasher and silas made his bed. when kids do their chores without complaining, that makes for a good start to a day! its rare, but i’ll take it!
thats one thing i really love about instagram. it allows me to focus on the good, the few-and-far-between moments, the times that i easily forget as soon as real life creeps in. its like ann voskamp’s 1000 gifts. these are the gifts. these are the treasures to hold on to, the memories to give thanks for.
