linking up my weekly phone pics with jeannett!  i’m thepleatedpoppy on instagram if you want to follow along!

we grocery shop as a family every week, usually friday, saturday or sunday.  occasionally sean goes without me (happy dance!) but most often the 5 of us head out together.  for years we’ve managed to go to costco once a week, and hardly ever anywhere else.  occasionally we’ll hit up the grocery store or trader joe’s, but costco is definitely once a week.

we have a simple way for making our grocery list.  whenever we run out of something, we add it to our chalkboard-painted pantry door.  before we head out, one of us snaps a pic of it with our phone.  but even better, after posting this on instagram, friends shared some great apps that you can share grocery lists with your spouse so you both can use it and add to it – genius!

once again, the weather here has been ridiculous.  i was being a whiney brat on sunday after church, not wanting to be cold at the windy beach, but somehow sean convinced me to go.  aaaaand it was over 80*.  and awesome.  we met some friends and the kids played, we lounged and chatted, and then we all played a little volleyball (still sore).

what do you do when you haven’t meal planned and get home from the beach at 5 o’clock?  make yumm bowls, of course.  (and then take pictures of the process to blog about it.)

what do you do when you get done with homeschool before 1?  celebrate with jamba juice, of course!  seriously, i have to celebrate all those little victories.

have you heard of stitch fix yet?  i shared my experience with them on wednesday.

lily made us key lime cheesecake with the help of my sweet friend, joy.  i hear it was great, but i’m off sweets for lent, so i’ll take their word for it.

last week we were on a family walk and we passed by a construction site.  i spotted a huge pile of galvanized corrugated metal and made sean promise me he would go back and ask them if we could have it (because i would never do it myself!).  turns out, the sheets were 16 feet long!  we’re going to cover our retaining wall with them in our backyard.

gracie and lily do weekly horse lessons and work cleaning tack and saddles.  they ride a handful of different horses, which i love so they can experience a variety of ways to ride – with a stubborn horse, sassy, or fast!

this sweet horse is named thumbelina and has the cutest freckles, and some rockin’ bleach blonde bangs ;)

while the girls are at horse lessons, si and i run errands together and call it a date.  this time we passed by this desk and i had to back track and take a second look at it.  how could this be free?!  i called for help and we got this desk loaded in the back of my car and dropped off at fred & betty’s!

after a really hard day of momming, i treated myself to some creative time with the headphones in after the kids were in bed, and made a handful of clutches and some new necklaces for the stitch market!  its been so fun to go through my stash of supplies and see what i can make from them!

tgif.  for reals.  so glad its the weekend!

Lindsey, I am dying for one of those tassel necklaces! I live in Utah and got to meet you when me and my mom went to Del Mar for a QBM, then again when it came to Utah. Please consider selling a few on Instagram, I love them!
