house tour {guest bath}

i love our cheery guest bathroom!  this is really the kids’ bathroom, but since its just off the main living space, its used by our guests as well.  a couple years ago i repainted this room egg yolk yellow, by martha stewart.  it took me 3 tries to get the right color, but i am so happy with it!

the sinks were one of those dream items i wanted in my home forever.  but since they have no storage, we also had a built-in bank of drawers on the nearby wall.  the medicine cabinets were from either home depot or lowes.  unfortunately, when we built our home i wash;t blogging yet and i had no idea that this kind of info might be helpful to someone else!

while i love the hex tile on the floor, i so wish i had done a dark grey grout.  we opted for an epoxy grout that was supposed to be stain resistant.  after several years, it just isn’t anymore.

the anchor hooks is from joann’s, spray painted a glossy grey.  the aqua towels and rugs are from target.

i feel like this first aid cross just makes the bathroom!  i found it at ruby rose a few months ago.  the 3 tiered tray is so useful and holds most of the girls’ hair goodies.

the grey striped shower curtain is from west elm.  i know there are all sorts of tutorials on making these yourself, but i decided that it wasn’t worth my time!  i thought the price was actually pretty reasonable.

we built in 2 cubbies in the shower for shampoos and soaps, and had the square tiles offset subway style.

this is what you see when you walk into the bathroom.  while i don’t love seeing the potty first thing, this print from jones design company provides a nice distraction!

guest bath

the wire rack near the potty holds plenty of tp, and rolls of guest towels.  it was originally a plant stand, but i love it in here!

the french-door-turned-giant-frame was a fun project from long ago!  the pictures inside are some of my all time favorites.

do you have any questions that i haven’t answered?  let me know!

    Love your home! FYI: The medicine cabinet is from Home Depot. I know because years ago I asked you that very question and you knew (remembered) then.

    Is the “mat” paper on the door decoupaged on? What about the photos? How do the stay attached? Love, love, love your blogs.

    Your style is just adorable. Love it! And I feel your pain about the hex tile grout!! We built our house about 18 months ago and put very similar tile with white grout in our master. I feel like I’m always scrubbing it…why didn’t I just do grey grout?! I so wish we could change the color somehow – have you ever looked into staining it? I’m nervous to try it!

    Could you tell me the brand and style of the square tile in the shower?
    Thanks
