house tour {silas’ room}

 silas’ room is just off the kitchen, and i love seeing peeks of it through the doorway.  once he was out of a crib (too early as he was climbing out at 18 months!), his room has looked like this.  he has the biggest bed because his room also a sometimes-guest room if the loft is full.

 his room, like most of our house, is a mishmash of picked up pieces from around the house, garage sales, and flea markets.  the white bedding was a wedding gift, and the quilt was from his baby bedding.

the headboard was ours when we first got married and we just repainted it avocado green and added cork to the insets (that has since been partially torn out).

the tool chest was a stroke of genius!  it holds all the tiny little toys and nerf guns and dress up clothes that end up all over the floor.

 all of the artwork was from sean’s old home office – vintage reproduction prints of hawaiian ads.

the bookshelf was from an old school staff room.

the orange locker under the windows was a garage sale find – i think originally from ikea.  it was red but we painted it orange.

the coat rack behind the door was from an old long board skate board that was sean’s.   we just added hooks and screwed it to the wall.

any questions?  ask me in the comments and i’ll do my best to answer them!

    I pinned the inspiration room for your son’s room from House of Turquoise over a year ago when trying to make an idea board for my baby’s nursery. I still think I’ll go this route for his big boy room…he’ll be a year in June.
