colorful front porch

my front porch had begun to get a bit neglected, so i decided it was time to spruce it up!  its a good thing we have really mild weather through summer and fall, so we’ll have plenty of time to enjoy our porch.

the pillows before were all covered with pastel vintage pillow cases but i was ready for a bit more color.  i bought the sold colored pillows from world market (for 40% off!), and made the black and white pillow cases with some left-over fabric from my previous business, and the coral floral pillows are from towels that i had been hoarding for a bit.

the pink & orange lattice pillow was also on sale from world market.  the porch bed mattress is just covered in a twin sized fitted sheet.  when it gets too stained or undamaged, i just replace it with another cheap one.

buying a rug large enough to fit under the porch bed was going to be pretty pricey, so i decided to go with 2 less expensive rugs, also on sale from world market (i happened to go in the right day!).  these are the ones made from recycled plastic and can just be hosed clean.

here’s to many afternoons lounging on the porch, with a magazine in hand, sipping on a mommy drink!
