feeling blue

i was feeling the need to change things up a bit recently in our living room.  usually i just shop the house and repurpose things i already have, but give it new life in a new space, or pair it with something unusual.  but this time, target stepped in with those tempting red tags.

i have never really done navy in my house before, but something about summertime seems to open up the nautical avenue, and navy was calling my name!

i found these navy, gold and white ikat pillows at target (the one in the back, far left) on clearance for under $10, then i also had a discount on my cartwheel app.  so i got these pillows for about $8 each!  i already had the gold dot burlap pillow that i had made for christmas, and i found the navy stripe lumbar pillow at our new home goods in town.

i’ve been wanting a pouf for awhile, but i never wanted to pay the price.  the solution?  steal one.  ok, so that wasn’t going to work (they’re way to big, duh), so i saw this one on a huge discount – i think it was around $25!  it was really important to me that the cover could be removed and cleaned, so thank goodness this has a zipper underneath to remove it.  because you know it will get dirty.

i pulled a navy globe down from our kitchen cabinet collection, and an atlas i got from my in-laws’ house.  simple.  clean.

i love the weathered wood coffee table my dad and i made with the crispness of the navy – i’m a big fan of contrasts when it comes to decorating.

this little lumbar pillow is an outdoor pillow that was also on clearance at target – i did really good that day ;)  or bad, depending on how you look at it.

the trie dye pillows were clearances as well.  those are super trendy, but i still love them!

and the antlers because… they’re antlers.  i still love the organic form of them and the funky twist they add in all decor situations.

i have a bunch of beautiful dark wood picture frames from silas’ old room that i’m thinning about swapping out on the photo shelves still.  we’ll see!
