what i wore

welcome to “what i wore” at the pleated poppy!  share with me your fashion posts and we can inspire each other!  i started this originally as motivation to get out of my daily uniform of jammies or sweats, but now i am encouraged and held accountable to put a few extra minutes aside for myself and try new things.  i’d love for you to join me!

date night is the perfect excuse to dress up a little.  but when i get dressed, the first thing i consider is comfort and temperature.  i knew i needed to dress a little warmer because we were headed to a restaurant on the beach (just in time for the sunset!).  i had just received this adorable top from Woodbury Lane and i am not one to let something new sit long before i try it out.  yes, a shirt and jeans isn’t the fanciest look for a date night, but i also live in a pretty casual town.  but the wedges “elevate” the outfit a bit (pun fully intended).

again with the shirt!  i tend to wear new items as many ways as i can when i first get my hands on it.  this top is also the perfect length for wearing with leggings – covering up all the downstairs goods – nobody needs all the information leggings give ;)

shirt – woodbury lane // jeans – target {similar} //  sandals – old navy //  necklace – 31 bits //  earrings – lisa leonard designs

woodbury lane is sharing a discount for all of you!  15% off with “CHENEY15” – yay!

oh the woes of finding a long enough dress… this one is borderline, but again: comfort.  the loose fitting shape is so forgiving and i love the navy color!

Oo nice to see some more sandals, that’s giving me inspiration for when Spring finally arrives here! Thanks for hosting x

You have such a pretty collection of sandals, I cannot believe it is already warm enough where you are to wear them! I REALLY need a good pedicure before my tootsies are sandal ready….oh well I’m using your post this week as inspiration and getting one done.

I would love to have you linkup YOUR posts, every week I hold a linkup dedicated to real mom and dad street style. You don’t need to be a mom to linkup but it is intended to inspire all parents to look their best with everyday outfits.

I’m also hosting a fabulous giveaway for a three piece murano glass jewelry set and a bottle of balsamic vinegar. Missed your decor post last week I’m also really needing some ideas on the homefront.

    Have a great day!

I’m deciding this week to make some outfits happen. I swapped seasons in my closet…despite there still being snow on the ground here in CT….BUT for simplicity sake, I kept out only the items I love and love wearing. i do have a mini pile of items to try on, and dreading it.
