what i wore

welcome to “what i wore” at the pleated poppy!  share with me your fashion posts and we can inspire each other!  i started this originally as motivation to get out of my daily uniform of jammies or sweats, but now i am encouraged and held accountable to put a few extra minutes aside for myself and try new things.  i’d love for you to join me!

sweater – stitch fix //  printed (black on black) leggings – stitch fix // ankle booties – charlotte russe

church outfit

shirt – forever 21 //  jeans – golden tote //  wedge booties – target //  earrings – lisa leonard designs

what i wore

kids at school, meetings, work at thrift store, growth group

chambray tunic – target //  swing dress – ross //  slip – thrifted //  boots – steve madden (sonnya) //  necklace – lisa leonard designs

i am not a big fan of the slip here.  i love the extra length it gives (i have a hard time finding dresses to be long enough for my taste), but it just feels like too much.  thoughts? (be nice)

I actually like the slip – but then again, I am just a fan of lace in general. Either way, it’s a great look. Thanks for sharing the link-up!
    Peace, Sarah

love the top on your second look! thank you for hosting the link up

The lace top is stunning – love it with the flared jeans! Thank you for hosting :)

I haven’t worn a slip in many years but when I see it peeking out it looks like you don’t have it pulled up far enough. I think it looks cuter without it.

  5. 5

I like the slip. It adds a little vintage-y look to the really cute outfit and I like the length it adds also. Very cute.

  6. 6

I love the slip….it adds to the outfit and def. some length!

  7. 7

I always so enjoyed your blog in the past but I’m afraid I’m going to have to unsubscribe. There is just zero content anymore. Best of luck to you in the future!

i completely understand. i am in a life stage that just doesn’t allow for the consistency that i hope for with blogging, and hopefully i’ll get back to a more regular posting routine. but just a thought, some things may be better left unsaid.

That’s a cruel thing to say. Love your blog Lindsey.

I think the slip is aDORable!

Love what you wore! The gray Stitch Fix sweater looks so comfy and chic.

The lace top is so pretty! I like the striped dress with the slip peeking out! This is a great idea for taller people like me, because sometimes I will not buy a dress I like because it is too short.

  11. 13

I think the dress looks cute either way, and I’m loving those flares!

    RubberChickenGirl says:

I like the slip. It works like the lace extender. It makes me want to try some of my vintage slips with shorter dresses. I also like the contrast of something more preppy (?) like the stripes with the girly lace.

I love the tunic layered under the swing dress! You also look so great in the sleeveless white top. Thanks for hosting WIWW!

that grey sweater is so comfy chic!

I love the lace top and flare jeans together! I have had good luck with knit dresses at Old Navy by ordering in the “tall” size. They end up being just the right length. :)

  16. 18

I actually really like the lace slip, I don’t think it is too much at all! Plus the extra length is perfect.

    Love the cowl neck sweater!

Love the lace slip, it’s forgiving and adds a cute touch to your ensemble:) years ago, it was a no no to have your slip peeking out from under but now, it just works! I love your second look, the lace top is very chic. Im nor surecof the grey cowl, I prefer the F21 you have better. This looks extremely big.

Totally love the lace layer. Go for it.

I love the comfy grey sweater. Comfy skinnies with a baggy oversized top is my favorite. And I can relate to the slip quandary. Sometimes it feels like I’m wearing a slip that’s hanging too low (does that show my age) and other times I feel like it’s a cute add on. However, I liked your outfit both ways. Thanks for hosting the link up. :)

Love the lace top and flared jeans, very boho chic. Thank you for hosting.

I like the slip under the dress. I always need dresses just a little longer. This is a great idea!! By the way, you are my favorite blog and I’m praying for you as you go through this transition in life. I completely understand. I’m there too. That makes me like following you even more. You are so real. Thank you!!

  23. 25

I like the lace slip under the dress. I’m petite, but frequently if I buy petite dresses they fit perfectly everywhere but the length — too short. This is a great idea! I read your blog specifically for the WIWW posts, but I like everything else too. :)

I love your white sleeveless top, it looks lovely with the flared jeans!
