World Water Day 2018

lifewater

I have a good friend who works for Lifewater, a Christian nonprofit dedicated to bringing clean water, improved health, and the hope of the Gospel to unreached places.  When we get together and talk about work, I’m talking about designing window displays and she’s talking about traveling to remote regions of the world, dealing with spiders the size of her hand, and providing lifesaving water programs for villages.  Both are important jobs (ha!), but… you guys, she is impacting the WORLD!

Did you know that 800+ million people don’t have access to safe water?  That’s about 1 in 10 people on earth, or twice the population of the United States! You can help change that!

Hi Lindsey – Your post hit very close to home for me – My 15 year old daughter & I are just returning from Liberia, Africa on a clean water missions trip. We traveled with HOPE2LIBERIA (HOPE2LIBERIA.org) Another Christian non-profit working on clean water. My dear friend SAM has been working in Liberia for 12 years now – he has dug many wells & given hundreds of water filtration systems out to remote villages there in Liberia.

He has since opened a school – HOPE ACADEMY that teaches over 300 kids age nursery – 4th. While we were there we opened a tiny medical clinic staffed with one young American nurse (also named Lindsey :)). It’s amazing the needs there. Just wanted to thank you for posting this. So few know or have any sense of the struggles on the other side of the earth. It was a life changing trip for both of us. My 15 year old is forever changed. We are working diligently to help too. We’ve started with letting friends sponsor backpacks for the students.

For $15.00 anyone can sponsor a backpack full of much needed school supplies. http://store.kitsforkidz.org/index.php/hope2liberia.html

These kids have no pencils, paper, etc. It’s amazing what we take for granted every day here……… Thanks for sharing this very important message. Amy & Olivia from Chicago.
