what i wore

welcome to “what i wore” at the pleated poppy!  share with me your fashion posts and we can inspire each other!  i started this originally as motivation to get out of my daily uniform of jammies or sweats, but now i am encouraged and held accountable to put a few extra minutes aside for myself and try new things.  i’d love for you to join me!

what i wore at the pleated poppy

sunday – church and lunch out with the family

dress – urban outfitters // shirt – old navy {similar} // shoes – old navy (i just got these on sale for $7! no longer online.) // earrings – nickel & suede

i love this dress, but it is super sheer, so a slip is a must.  also, i wore these shoes for the first time for several hours and they were really comfy!

first day of school for the kids = my first day home alone

my kids go to school 2 days a week and are home the rest.  i love my kids, but i treasure those 2 very short days a week!

shirt – from our school store // jeans – forever 21 {similar} // converse – nordstrom // earrings – nickel & suede

our school has a theme each year to help spur us on, and this year it is “dare greatly”, pulled from this quote from theodore rooseveldt:

so i took an unexpected break from blogging… again.  the ease of summer just slipped me out of my normal routines.  vacations, kids at camp, kids sleeping in, dinners with friends, days by the pool… its a rough life ;)

but now real life has set in, even though summer has not quite ended for us here (the kids go back to school on monday).  i have found myself much busier than usual, with responsibilities pulling me in several directions each day.  i’m thankful for all the fun directions i’m going, but its still a lot and its still work.  so, blogging slipped off the priority list.  but i’m back today to show you a couple outfits from week’s past – and one outfit i re-wore almost exactly today!
