what i wore {with noonday collection}

welcome to “what i wore” at the pleated poppy!  share with me your fashion posts and we can inspire each other!  i started this originally as motivation to get out of my daily uniform of jammies or sweats, but now i am encouraged and held accountable to put a few extra minutes aside for myself and try new things.  i’d love for you to join me!

i am so happy to share some really beautiful pieces from Noonday Collection!  noonday offers us the opportunity to use our purchasing power to create change in the world {while looking really good along the way}.  our purchases can now restore dignity to abandoned women in Ethiopia, empower communities in Ecuador, and create business opportunities for Ugandans.

don’t hate me that i’m wearing sandals!  its like we live in a different country than the rest of the US – so weird.

what i wore {with golden tote!}

welcome to “what i wore” at the pleated poppy!  share with me your fashion posts and we can inspire each other!  i started this originally as motivation to get out of my daily uniform of jammies or sweats, but now i am encouraged and held accountable to put a few extra minutes aside for myself and try new things.  i’d love for you to join me!

have you used Golden Tote yet?!  i have several times and love it!   Golden Tote is an online boutique that sends you a tote (printed with adorable gold foil graphics) of styles, you pick 1 to 2 items, they surprise you with others! i think this new kind of shopping is great for those of us who hate shopping, or for people more like me who enjoy shopping but have a hard time stepping out of their fashion comfort zone.  i’d say golden tote pushed me way out of my comfort zone (its a good thing!).  when you sign up they send you a personalized tote based on your style. you can choose to receive 2-3 items a tote for $49 (a $200 value) or 5-7 items for $149 (up to $600 value).  i chose the later – i went online, chose my favorite 2 items, and they surprised me with 4 others!

this top is the first of the 2 items i chose.  its as easy as a t-shirt, but also part oxford, so it kicked up a notch on the casual scale.

shirt – golden tote //   jeans – forever 21 //  converse -off broadway shoes //  necklace – old, from my shop

these jeans were the second item i chose.  i love a good pair of jeans, and sean loves it when i wear wide leg jeans – win win!  i still need to hem these jeans just a touch (its so rare for me to find a pair of jeans that aren’t too short!), but they are great with heels for date night.  this shirt was one of my surprise items and i love it!  its a great cut with fabric that hangs just right.

this shirt dress was another surprise item.  the fit is perfect and i am a sucker for turquoise!  i “winterized” it a bit with a knit top, scarf, cable knit tights and boots.

my 3rd surprise item was this navy print top.  it is a great quality fabric that hangs perfectly.  i like that the print is a little unexpected, but not too crazy.  i kind of love to pair navy and white with wide leg jeans – keep it nautical ;)  and converse is my go-to for shoes, so these were the obvious choice.

top – golden tote //  jeans – target (old) //  converse – off broadways shoes //  necklace – allora handmade

this top was my last surprise item.  it was harder to style than the rest, but still fun!  the great thing about golden tote is that even if there’s an item you don’t love in your bag, you’re getting such a great deal that its still worth it to keep the whole bag (they have a take it or leave it policy – whole bag or no bag).  there’s even a Facebook page where members can trade their “less loved” items!
