what i wore wednesday

welcome again to wiww, where we gather together to keep accountability to getting dressed and putting a little effort into ourselves!

each week, as i look over a handful of participants here, i get super self-conscious.  i’m not talking about the clothes other people have and i don’t – i’m pretty much ok with that.  i’m talking about pictures.  the quality of pictures and the level of professionalism.  when i look at many of your posts, i feel silly posting my fuzzy phone pics.  i stand in pretty much the same position, in one of 3 locations around my house, nearly every week.  and i see you, who post in brick-walled alley, or a flowery field, or in the middle of a tree lined street.

this comparison thing, it stinks.  it makes me feel like heck, i’m the one hosting this!  my pictures should look as good as everyone else’s!  but really, that is not what this is about,  and maybe the comparison happens for you with the clothing or hairstyles or house envy from what you see in the background.  but i am doing my best to leave that behind and focus on why i am doing this silly thing of taking pictures of myself everyday.  i do it so i don’t wear my pajamas all day every day.  because i did.  and sometimes i still do.  but knowing i have a group of women who are encouraging me to put just 10 extra minutes into throwing on a flattering outfit, that pushes me on!  my self worth is not wrapped up in my appearances, but that said, who doesn’t feel better when they look better?  really.

so i’m moving on.  i am no longer going to wish my pictures were as good as so and so, or that i could pose naturally in front of the camera like her.  i will continue to push my self to get dressed every day and strive to learn new skills (better pics, poses, locations), but i will not obsess over them.  i need to be content.

rambling done.

so this week i was at snap and didn’t bring my big dslr with, so phone pics is what you get!

i wore this outfit the day i spoke, knowing i wouldn’t last all day in those wedges, especially with having to set up for the queen bee market as well.
