i am having the. hardest. time. getting dressed lately!  i am in full summer mode (even though we’re not done with school yet), and i have no motivation to do anything, much less get dressed.  so if you see me in anything decent, know it took A LOT of effort!  i even spent a whole day this week (running errands included) wearing what i found on my floor:  leggings and one of sean’s giant sweatshirts.  and you know what?  it was awesome.  it was kind of wonderful to take a day to not even care how i looked.  but on day 3 of that, i am feeling crummy again and need to put a little lipstick on and run a brush through my hair.  so its back to taking pics of myself again, and trying a little harder.

if you’ve been doing wiww for any amount of time, you may understand this experience: i felt really good in this outfit.  it was comfy and different for me, and perfect for a hot day.  but then when i saw the pictures… blech!  i do NOT love it!  i’m not sure where i went wrong, but i’ll try again to figure it out.

happy wednesday friends!  thanks for joining me for “what i wore wednesday” this week!  i started this long ago when i had 3 littles and rarely left the house, so i rarely got dressed.  when i did, i considered sweats and a hat as “dressed”.  slowly over the years, my schedule has gotten me out of the house more and i have made room for a few extra minutes each day to put on “real” clothes.  are you in a similar situation?  or are you in a clothing rut? start taking pictures of yourself and you will want to make a difference in your clothing, whether its just a couple accessories, or trying a new combination.  then link up with us! this week was a little off for me since we were gone for almost a week, visiting family in orange county.  i only really got dressed a couple days (once for sean’s sister’s wedding – yay!), but other than that i stayed in my jammies all day and helped my mother-in-law de-clutter her house (it was sooo fun!).  so all that to say, i don’t have much to share with you!  and when i’m away from home, i’m even worse with remembering to take wiww pics.

i was able to get one picture before we headed out of town.  i was a little dressed up to go out to drinks with the other kindergarten moms at our school.

i love this necklace and can’t wait to try it with just a plain white v-neck tee and jeans – i think the contrast of the super casual with the fancy will be fun!

i hardly ever do anything creative with my hair, and this was a fun, quick attempt!  i just french braided my bangs back, then took a section behind that and braided that as well, then did a braid on the opposite side, pulled them all into a ponytail and pinned the ends into a messy bun.  it took all of 5 minutes.

i need to get new shoes to replace these (although you can’t see them).  just minutes before the wedding started, the ankle strap snapped on one of them!  thankfully a safety pin held them together just fine for dancing at the reception!
