what i wore wednesday

i was reeeeeeally bad about taking pics this week.
i worked my tail off in the sweatshop whenever i wasn’t busy being super mom:
art classes, camping, swim lessons, gymnastics.
don’t worry – i didn’t overdo it – i made sure to order out most nights and my house is a disaster ;)
so all that to say, my clothing lacked a certain appeal.
ok, it lacked any appeal.
that and i fell out of the habit of taking my pic every morning.
i’ll get better…
but i did manage to get a couple shots, so i can at least participate in my own linky party!

sweater – target
white tee – made by me (search my tutorials – i’m feeling too lazy to find it)
jeans – target
copper flats – target
necklace – the pleated poppy

here’s a close up of my petal drop necklace.
its really hard to take a pic of yourself wearing a necklace.
i think i need to bribe a friend to be my model!
in this pic i’m wearing a large petal drop, just fyi for an idea on size.
and i think there is only one left (eeek!) but more will come to those who wait ;)

i’m tired of seeing this outfit, too.
you’re not alone.
grey tank – old navy
yellow tank – target
jeans – very old old navy
flips – rainbow sandals
ok, your turn!

spontaneous camping

my husband’s business partner (and good friend) celebrated his birthday this weekend
camping with his family.
since they were camping locally – about 30 minutes away – they invited us to join them for dinner.
we decided to interpret that as “come join us for the whole weekend and camp with us”.
can you see how much they sound the same?
dinner… whole weekend… it could confuse anyone, really.

our friends were so kind to let us jump in on their weekend with them, especially so last minute.
we had such a great time.

all the kids played so well together (other than silas assuming he was master of all toys), and we adults actually had a decent amount of down time.

we went on a great hike saturday morning (with daddy-lead stretching),
which silas capped off with a nice long nap (that i just had to join him for).

after nap we went to the beach for a bit,
where the kids promptly corn-dogged themselves (wet body, dry sand).

silas was crazy about his freedom in the water where he kept going up to his shoulders
and was singing loudly some sort of theme song – it was hilarious!

good thing swim lessons started today!

and to finish off the weekend, my baby learned to ride his bike without training wheels!
who knew that would be a tear-jerking moment?!

don’t worry – i drowned my mommy sorrows in peanut butter cup s’mores.
aaaand i may have had another one since we’ve been home
(psssst!  the stove flame works just as well as a campfire in a pinch!).
today i am also guest blogging over at mique’s 30days for her “funner in the summer” series.
come for a visit!
i’m also a guest judge at the csi project this week!
and there might just be a giveaway for the winner…
the theme is “red, white, and blue” – so appropriate!
also head over to the magic brush for a little pleated poppy giveaway!
and last but not least…
i have added a TON of new products to my shop!
you know those fun new necklaces i told you about last week?
well, they all sold!
but… i have listed more right here for you!
also new to the shop are:
thanks for sticking with me through the longest post ever!
you rock!
