what i wore wednesday

in case you’re new, and think i just love posting pics of myself, let me give a little explanation again of why i do wiww.  it started as a way of keeping myself accountable to dressing presentably every (ok, most) days.  my standards aren’t high – getting out of my pj’s counts as far as i’m concerned.  being a stay/work at home mom, and my kids homeschooling 3 days a week, i really didn’t have much reason to dressed each day since we tend to stay put mostly.

but then i started to see myself day after day in sweats or ill fitting t-shirts and realized not only would my husband probably love to see me in something without holes and stains, but it might make me get a little extra pep in my step.  and it did!

but i must admit, this week was hard.  actually, wiww has been hard for a bit, probably because i have been much busier with work than i want to be (good problem, trying not to complain!), and with thanksgiving and christmas coming… well i tend to really hunker down and relax when we have a school break.  for me, relaxing means not getting dressed, not feeling any sort of constraint around my waist or torso.

so most of the outfits you see below are ones i threw on before we were leaving the house in the evening (read: i did not get dressed until 5 o’clock most days).  so there’s my confession.  i’m falling of the wiww wagon.  i want to quit, but i won’t.  dressing cute in the winter is really hard for me, but i am going to do my best!

i threw this on literally just before dinner – we walked downtown to chipotle.  mmmmmm!

Totally a first- I’m up in the middle of the night and so are you- I’m the first to link. Sigh- it’s gonna be a great day. Please don’t give up! You are our inspiration to throw on more than softies each day. We love you!

Super cute outfits! Most of my wardrobe comes from Target :) I love the boots from forever21.

  3. 3

    I love your church outfit!

  4. 4

After seeing you wear it, I bought that Zoe dress, too, during their Black Friday special. I LOVE it!! Thanks for the recommendation. :)

  5. 5

that hat is too cute… I am heading over to blue corduroy now!!!!! ; )

  6. 6

Church outfit is really cute, and I love your Chipotle look — and Chipotle, too!

  7. 7

I have the same target boots they are great – and yes I need the motivation to not be in sweats and work out clothes all day also – working at home really does cause one to ignore most of their clothing – LOL :)

  8. 8

Even if it was thrown together at 5p, you still look cute :) I always feel better when I get dressed and put on a little makeup. But I get in a rut of wearing the same things over and over. It’s been fun to see some of your outfits because they’ve given me some new inspiration with my own clothes!

Um, excuse me, but you look adorable whatever time of day you decide to get dressed! I know what you mean though, most days I don’t get out of my p.j.’s until I a) get dressed to exercise or b) have to go pick my daughter up from school. It’s just too hard in the winter… we don’t go play outside, so why get dressed??

I’m new to WIWW… and I love it! I’ll have to get started tomorrow!

  11. 11

I so know what you are talking about. I’ve been struggling to get dressed properly for a while, with a sick child and lot’s to do clothing isn’t number one on my list :) But when I eventually get dressed I always have WIWW on my mind and it gives me a little boost of energy and inspiration. So please don’t stop, you are so inspiring!

Over via Kris at Simplify. This looks fun, but not sure you all are ready for the G.B. But, I couldn’t resist and this was fun. Will be back. Off to follow.

  13. 13

Even though winter may not be your favorite season, you do look pretty cute with your layers, sweaters and fun splashes of color.

I’ve been falling off the WIWW wagon a bit lately–it’s been hard to come up with fresh combos. I feel like I grab the same things all the time.

  14. 14

i totally understand what you mean about the winter months. the weather is so cold, rainy & sometimes snowy (depending on where ya live) and its a cozy kind of day with sweats and stuff. i think next week i will start doing wiww.
    your outfits are cute:)

    Jessica @ Acting Adult says:

I love the Sunday outfit! But I agree it’s awfully hard to be cute during the winter with all those layers.

  16. 16

I totally agree that winter is HARD when it comes to fashion! I hate it. . . give me summer clothes any day! But you have some cute boots!

  17. 17

don’t quit! I love your style and look forward to Wednesdays every week! You are TOO cute!

  18. 18

    I am loving your “what I wore Wednesdays!}
So fun to see what everyone is wearing:):)

  19. 19

Love your Sunday outfit… Thanks for hosting wiww, so enjoy being apart of it!

  20. 20

Your WIWW post are what made me remember your blog way back when I was a lurker and never had the courage to post a comment or before I ever had the courage to link up. It’s great motivation for all of us ladies to be a little more thoughtful in what we wear. The link up has been a great way for me to find new blogs to read and follow. Thanks for doing WIWW week after week :) BTW, I *heart* Chipotle! Don’t they have the best kids meal? We eat there at least once a week.

I’m jealous, I’m 7 mos post babies…still in sweats mode but starting to feel the need for a change. XOXO
