DIY pompom flowers

day 3 of pompom week!  to learn how to make pompoms 3 ways, start here.  to make a super fun pompom pillow, go here.

DIY pompom flowers

i love how adorable these pompom flowers are!  they spruce up a space, and you don’t have to worry about them dying!  but the best part of these is that they are really quick – my kind of project!

DIY pompom flowers

supplies \\ pompoms (variety of sizes), wooden skewers and/or thin dowels, glue sticks, glue gun

DIY pompom flowers

spread the threads of a pompom to expose a center part.  i found that even though i’m showing you the string wrapped center, using the opposite side is actually a little better (you can push the skewer a little further to the center of the pom for more stability).

take your dowel (cut to the desired length) or skewer, add hot glue around the entire tip, about 1/2-3/4″ down.  push into the opening you just made in the pompom and squeeze the yarn threads tight against the glue until it dries.

pop in a vase and you’re done!

for a more organic look, try gluing the pons to sticks from your back yard!
